In the early 1940s, the Nazis established a transit ghetto, which served as "a model" for International Red Cross officials during inspection visits. Later on the infamous Terezin concentration camp was built, where 35,000 Jews lost their lives. Nowadays, you can visit the Holocaust memorial and the concentration camp museum.

This full-day trip will take you to two castles - originally built on high rocks that became water castles when Orlik dam was erected in 1960. The Czech King Wenceslas I founded the Royal gothic castle of Zvikov in 1234 on a hill towering over the Vltava and Otava rivers at the point where they join together. The nearby castle Orlik was also built in 13th century and then adapted in Neo-gothic style in the middle of 19th century with a big castle park.
